Wakefield
Wakefield is a town of approximately 25,000 people, located
ten miles northeast of Boston. For those wishing to take
public transportation, there is a commuter rail (operated
by the MBTA) with very regular service to Boston.
The
town's location provides a very good environment for business.
Many specialty stores and service businesses are located
along Main Street, North Avenue and in the Greenwood and
Montrose sections.
Wakefield
enjoys a strong sense of community spirit, with many town-wide
community events, from Town Day, to an Independence Day
Parade, to an Arts Festival, to a fall Homecoming Celebration,
to Concerts on the Common, on the banks of lovely Lake Quannapowitt.
Having recently celebrated its 350th anniversary, Wakefield
also has a significant historical heritage and many fine
old buildings. In addition, there is a very good library
and a flourishing arts/cultural life.
